If you're one of the many guitarists frustrated by the loss of treble when your volume control is reduced, the combination of a resistor and capacitor wired in parallel (known as "treble compensation" or "treble bleed" circuit) can really brighten things up. (see diagram)

.047uf - generally used with single coil pickups
.022uf - generally used with humbucker pickups
This type of capacitor is preferred by many people to standard ceramic.
Sprague "Orange Drop" capacitors are accepted as the best capacitor for use in guitar tone control circuits. Difficult to find, and often offered at rip-off prices, we offer a choice of 2 values at an amazing price!
