GUITAR PARTS UK - PICKUPS, PARTS & ACCESSORIES
That scratchy old pot may be destroying your tone! Worn carbon tracks don't improve even after a good clean. The only option is replacement and these, full-size, potentiometers bring things back to life nicely!
PT0001: POTENTIOMETER (6 mm Collar )
TIP: It's amazing how many times we read "helpful" tips advising people to use Standard WD40 as a cleaner for guitar pots/switches. This is not a good idea. Standard WD40 is a wax based insulator and will add to the resistance between contacts & the wiper/track interface in pots. Use a good quality contact cleaner.

Excellent quality pots with a 6mm collars (the length of the threaded part of the shaft) for use with guitars where the pot is fitted through a scratchplate or Tele style control panel.
CRTC01: CAP'/RES' NETWORK FOR TREBLE COMPENSATION
If you're one of the many guitarists frustrated by the loss of treble when your volume control is reduced, the combination of a resistor and capacitor wired in parallel (known as "treble compensation" or "treble bleed" circuit) can really brighten things up. (see diagram)

TIP 1: LOG pots should always be used for Volume controls. For Tone controls either LOG or LINEAR pots can be used to your preference. If undecided, we recommend using LOG pots.
TIP 2: 500K Ohm pots have a slightly "brighter" sound than 250K Ohm pots as they place less load on the pickup. Therefore, 500K pots are more commonly used with humbuckers. 250K pots are often used with single coils as they can temper some of the shrill brightness. However, both values are interchangeable and can used according to taste. 1 Mega Ohm pots are the brightest of all 3 values.
TIP 1: LOG pots should always be used for Volume controls. For Tone controls either LOG or LINEAR pots can be used to your preference. If undecided, we recommend using LOG pots.
PT0004: "MINI" POTENTIOMETER
guitar_parts_uk0520133.gif
